Boy, it’s been a hell of a while since we put together some Wardrobe Functions style recommendations like these. We’re constantly sifting through and bookmarking items of interest online so here’s a handful of head-to-toe outfit accessories that have been begging me to hit that “PURCHASE” button.
Everybody’s favourite surf company in NYC (also probably the only surf company in NYC) produces all year round, weather applicable pieces too. This season they’ve reworked the traditional N-1 military jacket and renamed it the Oliver Deck. I’ve got a vintage N-1 and the sherpa lining is the warmest thing I’ve put on my torso this Fall.

The search for the right pair of shoes has become a daunting task. Now’s not the time for a flimsy sneaker nor is it favourable to get said sneakers all grimy and scuffed up (unless that’s your sort of thing). Around here, we partake in the toothbrush shoe cleaning methods. Anyhoo, I’ve rounded up a bunch of suede, leather and roughout leather options that I’ve been online window shopping for. Heavily durable shoes with that signature Cristy Vibram sole seems to be the ongoing theme here. Be warned though, most of these guys cost a pretty penny, however sometimes you’ve got to invest to get the best. That just rhymed so it must be true. Have a look in the cut…

Time and time again Filson has proven to be my favourite for outdoor clothing. If you own anything by the brand then you know about the quality and workmanship that is put into everything they make. They have been around since 1897 and are obviously doing something right to continue their domination in the outdoor game. Not only do they stick to their roots but they also step out of their boundaries and work with other topnotch brands in the fashion industry. Since buying this jacket I have been a true believer in what they stand for: making better outdoor clothes. This cover cloth field jacket has proven to me over the year that it will stand up to the nastiest of Vancouver weather and is something that will be a part of my wardrobe for a very long time.
