Complex Previews Nipsey's "South Central State of Mind" Album

Ever since The Game debuted in 2005 with The Documentary, there haven’t really been any prominent new West Coast rappers to emerge. Enter Nipsey Hussle. The lanky, Los Angeles-raised, Rollin’ 60s Crip has kept heads noddin’ with his vicious Bullets Ain’t Got No Name mixtape series and gotten heavy co-signs from Snoop Dogg and Game, in addition to a spot on XXL’s prestigious “Freshmen Class” cover earlier this year. His debut album, South Central State of Mind, features guest appearances from Lloyd and Kevin Cossom, production from the likes of Mr. Lee, The Runners, and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, and is “80% done,” according to Nipsey. Which means it’s ripe for us to break down and analyze. It’s Hussle in the house!
